For the last 6 months Google has been trialling out their Site Kit plugin for WordPress and here at uMarketeers we are excited to see the benefits of this will have across some of our clients data and site health. With version 1.0 being released we will be keeping a close eye on how this develops and where it leads to in how we optimise our WordPress websites going forward. With it being in beta for over 6 months, there were bug fixes and issues with the user flows that they say have now been fixed and the setup has been simplified hence why it’s ready for launch.

So What is Site Kit?
Site Kit allows WordPress users to access data from Google products right from their site’s dashboard. The plugin aggregates data from Google Search Console, Google Analytics, PageSpeed Insights, and AdSense so you and your clients can see this data right in the dashboard rather than through the Google account which means easier collaboration for you, your clients and your website.
Site kit is very simple to setup, just install the plugin and then verify your Google account directly. This will automatically bring across your analytics and console data. There are great benefits of bringing this across to the dashboard. One of the main reasons is that is makes it easier for SEO’s, developers and clients to gain access to data and see where their site is performing and not performing, this will enable better collaboration and to make better judgements across how and why your top pages are performing.
